When purchasing a Bird Herd Adventure you are entering into an agreement with Aussie Wild Nature Discovery, also known in this document as Aussie Wild. When you purchase a Bird Herd Adventure from Aussie Wild you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions of that agreement.
1. Participants agree that Aussie Wild Nature Discovery will deliver a Bird Herd Adventure according to its advertised content.
2. Participants agree that Aussie Wild makes no promise that any particular bird or animal species will be encountered on any Bird Herd Adventure.
3. Bird Herd Adventures must be paid for in full at the time of booking the adventure.
4. (i) If your child cannot attend on the day, you must contact Aussie Wild in writing with at least 24 hours notice prior to the adventure. In this case, you will be credited and able to choose a later date to re-book/attend. If you cannot attend a future date you will receive a refund, providing you have offered 24 hours notice in writing.
4. (ii) Bird Herd Adventures are transferrable, but 24 hours notice must be given in writing via email and parents or guardians must complete the Bird Herd booking form.
5. Children must have a hat, sufficient water and covered shoes to participate in Bird Herd Adventures. If they turn up without these items they will not be permitted to attend. In the event of this occurring you will be offered the chance to reschedule if there are any openings in future Bird Herd Adventures. If no openings are available there will be no refund so please be diligent in these matters.
6. All children and accompanying adults must conform to any instruction from your Aussie Wild guide, park Rangers and other park employees.
7. All children and accompanying adults must conform to all NSW NPWS rules and guidelines.
8. All children and accompanying adults must refrain from attempting to handle any wildlife, pick flowers, sample ‘bush tucker’, collect feathers or disturbing any wildlife, including nesting birds or birds feeding their young.
9. Adventures will not run if there are fewer than 4 participants. If this occurs we will work with you to come up with an event at a later date.
10. Aussie Wild reserves the right to refuse access to the event if a child is obviously ill. If this is the case, a credit for a later event will be offered or a refund provided.
11. Aussie Wild reserves the right to terminate the event if there are extreme discipline problems with any child. Children should come ready to have plenty of fun but also treat their peers and guide in a friendly and respectful fashion. Children must also understand that they should stay with the group, stay on the trail for their safety, and obey all instructions by the event Leader and any Park Rangers or employees.
12. Bird Herd Adventures are conducted on easy trails and walking is at a very slow pace with frequent stops and a break for snacks on the trail. Participants must be able to walk at least 4km or undertake that distance with appropriate assistance.
13. Children with sensorial, physical or intellectual challenges are very welcome on Bird Herd Adventures, however a parent or carer must accompany them. Unfortunately the trails we use are not wheelchair accessible.
14. If weather conditions or park closures force a Bird Herd Adventure to be abandoned another adventure will be planned within seven days or at a date which fits the participants’ calendars. If holidays are coming to a close, a future weekend date on a trail with lighter human traffic may be offered.
15. Participants are required to provide all their own food/snacks on field trips.
16. (i). By paying the Bird Herd Adventure fee you are indicating that you have read, understand and accept you will be covered by Public Liability insurance for personal accident and injury held by Aussie Wild/Ricki Coughlan when participating in Aussie Wild activities. However none of your personal belongings will be covered by any insurance held by Aussie Wild. By paying a Bird Herd Adventure fee you are indicating that you understand and accept this too.
16. (ii). Aussie Wild cannot offer any guarantee that your personal belongings wont be lost or damaged during your participation in their field activities. Aussie Wild and Ricki Coughlan accept no responsibility for any loss or damage you might incur in this regard. You accept full responsibility for all of your personal belongings at all times during your participation in all Aussie Wild activities.
17. If for some reason of force majeure (such as pandemic lockdowns, bushfires, floods, etc..) or personal illness or injury, Ricki Coughlan/Aussie Wild is unable to offer a Bird Herd Adventure, she retains the right to defer the event to a later date or, in extreme circumstances such as permanent injury, cancel the adventure without being held liable to compensation or refund. In the event of any of these occurrences, this will be conducted with the closest possible consultation with participants.
